Hatuey beer was brewed for the first time in 1927 in Santiago de Cuba. It was the first high -end Cuba beer, brewed by the Bacardi family.
The name Hatuey evokes courage, honor, perseverance and struggle for what was right. He represents the struggle of a Taino chief named Hatuey for the survival right of his Taino people at the time of the Spanish conquest of the New World. His sacrifice cost him his life. This is why today he is considered the first Cuban national hero. His passion and his mind inspired the creation of this beer which pays homage to the story of Cuba and his emblematic hero.
Hatuey is a light, pale yellow beer, with a soft caramel scent. It has a pronounced taste, but only slightly bitter. Aromatic and tasty, Hatuey goes perfectly with the Cuban summer sun!
